Re.Food
Re.Food is a technical assistance project funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to support the Resilient Local Food Supply Chain Alliance (RLFSC Alliance) through Italy’s political leadership.
The final goal of the RLFSC Alliance and Re.Food is the consolidation of sustainable local food systems for the fulfillment of SDGs by 2030.
Re.Food aims to enhance RLFSC Alliance’s advocacy capacity, enlarge the network of partners, support the exchange of knowledge, expertise and experiences, and provide technical support and capacity building to foster the global dissemination of resilient local supply chains.

Advocacy and Support
- Increasing the number of Countries partners
- Strengthening the RLFSC Alliance advocacy capacity (providing staff, communication tools, resources for attending international events, and more)
- Strengthening the involvement of partners in the activities of the RLFSC Alliance

Mapping and Disseminating Best Practices
- Mapping best practices of local and resilient food systems (in Italy and abroad) and disseminating them through “FEED” – the digital platform for knowledge exchange
- Promotion of dialogue and exchange on local and resilient food system practices among partners, through thematic working groups

Training, expertise and experiences exchange, and technical support
- 5 scoping missions in 5 African target countries- conducted by representatives of the Italian food system to facilitate knowledge exchange and technical support for the development of local food systems
- Development of 5 Action Plans proposal for sustainable local food systems (in 5 African target countries)
- 2 Pilot projects elaborated from 5 Action Plans Proposals
- Training of 10 experts (2 experts each African target country) on food system planning, policy design and governance
- Technical support for 5 African target countries on sustainable food systems planning, through living labs approach
- Project proposal of an African Observatory on sustainable local food systems (in partnership with AUDA-NEPAD)
